Timeline stages

Throughout the order’s journey—from when our warehouse receives it until it’s shipped—the timeline will update to reflect its current status. The information displayed will change based on the order's progress. Below is an explanation of what each stage on the timeline represents.

Unfulfilled - This is the initial stage displayed within the order and will show the date the order is imported into or manually created in the Deliverzen platform.

Customer status - This indicates that the order has been Submitted for Fulfillment and is in the fulfillment queue; it will be picked and packed shortly depends on SLA it falls under.

Fulfilled - This indicates that the order has been picked and pack and now waiting for the carrier to pick up the shipment.

FAQ

I don’t see the timeline on my order; why?

  • Provide Shipping Quote
  • Pickup at Deliverzen
  • Custom Shipping Label
  • LTL (choose cheapest carrier)

Packaging options

We offer a range of packaging options to suit your needs, including poly mailers, bubble mailers, and boxes, all selectable per SKU. We also accommodate pre-packed SKUs that only need a shipping label and provide extra care for fragile items.

1) Poly mailer - A standard plastic poly mailer.

2) Bubble mailer - Envelope padded with bubble wrap inside.

3) Box (corrugated box) - A corrugated standard kraft box (with air pillow void fill in the negative space).

4) Fragile packaging

When the fragile setting is enabled, we carefully wrap your product in bubble wrap and ship it in a sturdy, corrugated box labeled "Fragile." This service costs $0.20 per square foot of bubble wrap (minimum charge: $0.50), ensuring your item is securely wrapped twice around for extra protection.

5) Ship alone

If your product is ready to ship as-is without extra packaging, we simply "slap a label" on it and send it out.

  • Mixed orders: If your order contains a case with another product that requires packaging, we'll combine them.

Packaging tiers

We offer three packaging levels:

  1. Poly mailers – Lowest tier
  2. Bubble mailers – Mid-tier
  3. Boxes – Highest tier

If an order includes items with different packaging tiers, we use the highest tier needed. For example, if one item is in a poly mailer and another requires a box, the entire order will be shipped in a box for consistency and protection.

Custom packaging

Custom-branded packaging can enhance your brand and better fit your products. To use custom packaging, simply send your materials to Deliverzen. Standard storage rates will apply. If you need assistance with finding custom boxes, we can connect you with one of our trusted partners.

Important notes & limitations:

  • Size restrictions: Custom mailers cannot exceed 18 inches in length or 14 inches in width due to high carrier surcharges.
  • Minimum size: Custom boxes or mailers must be at least 6 inches by 4 inches to fit shipping labels.
  • Custom tape: Water-activated tape
  • Hazardous material markings: Boxes with hazardous material symbols require written approval from Deliverzen before use.
  • Complex packaging: Boxes needing more than six folds or insert assembly will require kitting services, which incur additional costs.
  • Crinkle paper: Not accepted due to difficulty in tracking quantities.
  • Fulfillment costs: Shipping costs are based on the outer dimensions of your box, rounded up to the nearest inch. Be sure to verify external dimensions, as they can vary by up to ½ inch.

Change of address/redirect shipment guidelines

Sometimes, customers need to change the delivery address of an order—maybe the address was entered incorrectly, or it’s being sent to an old location. Here’s how we can help, depending on the status of your order and the carrier:

If the order hasn’t shipped yet

You can make changes to the address or shipping method yourself in Deliverzen, as long as the order does not have a "Fulfilled" status. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Deliverzen account.
  2. Navigate to the Order Details page for the order you’d like to update.
  3. Click on the blue highlighted address to edit it.
  4. Make your changes and click Update to save.

DHL eCommerce shipments:

  • Address changes are not possible once the shipping label has been created.

USPS shipments

If you need to intercept a USPS shipment, contact your Customer Service Representative to request a Package Intercept.

  • A service fee of at least $18.35 applies.

DHL Express, FedEx, or UPS shipments:

  • Contact your Customer Service Representative to check if the shipment is still early enough to change the address.
  • They’ll work with the carrier to submit a Redirect Authorization (for DHL Express) or request a change (for FedEx/UPS).

Important notes:

  • Address changes are not guaranteed once the order has shipped, as it depends on the carrier’s policies and the shipment’s progress.
  • If the order is already out for delivery, it’s too late to make changes.

Packing & shipping fragile items

To ensure the safe delivery of your fragile products, it’s crucial to communicate with your customer representative. If you have any fragile items in your inventory, please make sure to inform them. This proactive step will help us take the necessary precautions to protect your products during shipping and prevent any potential damage.

What happens when an order contains a fragile product?

  • Packaging:
    • Orders with fragile items will always be packed in a box—either a Deliverzen standard box or your custom box.
    • Bubble mailers, poly mailers, book folds, and poster tubes will NOT be used for fragile items.
  • Protection:
    • Extra packing material (brown paper filler) will be added to prevent movement inside the box.
    • Deliverzen's Operations team will receive an alert to ensure careful handling.

  • Glass products receive an additional layer of Geami protective wrap. (as seen below).

  • When you place an order with fragile items, our Operations team will receive an alert to ensure they handle these packages with special care.

Fragile packaging fee

If you started shipping with Deliverzen on or after March 1, 2023, a fragile packaging fee applies per unit. This fee covers the extra labor and materials needed to safely pack fragile items.

  • The fee is charged per unit for every item marked as "This item is fragile" in the Deliverzen dashboard.

    See pricing details below.

Packaging type

Fee per unit (marked as This item is fragile on the product’s details page).

  • Bubble Wrap – $0.80
  • Geani Paper – $0.75

3. Approval process

  • Our Hazmat Specialist will review the MSDS and determine the available shipping methods and labeling requirements.
  • Once approved, we’ll confirm the details with you and enable the product as Hazmat.

4. What we can ship

We can handle common hazardous items like:

  • Aerosols, adhesives, batteries, and more.

From DHL to UPS to FedEx to VEHO - who has my package?

Did you think all shipping options were the same? They’re not—and understanding the differences can give you peace of mind when tracking your package.

Let’s break it down:

  1. Handoff service
This is exactly what it sounds like. Carriers like DHL eCommerce or FedEx SmartPost pick up your package from our warehouse, take it to their distribution center, and deliver it to the destination city. Once there, they “hand off” the package to the local postal service (like USPS in the U.S.) for final delivery.
  2. Express & ground services
With options like FedEx Ground, FedEx Express, VEHO Premium Economy, UPS Ground, UPS Next Day, UPS 2nd Day or DHL Express Worldwide, the carrier handles everything—from pickup at our warehouse to delivery at your customer’s doorstep. No handoffs, just a straight shot to the destination.

Why does this matter?

Knowing whether your package is being shipped via handoff or express/ground helps you track it more easily and understand who’s handling it at each step.

Weight based surcharge

Deliverzen's pick and pack fees:

  • Items under 5 lbs: Standard pick and pack fees apply.
  • Items 5 lbs or more: A weight-based surcharge is added.

Why the surcharge?

Heavier items (5 lbs and up) require more effort to handle, larger packing stations, and extra labor. This surcharge covers those additional costs.

How it works:

The surcharge applies to the first pick and any additional picks in your order. The exact fee depends on the item’s weight. See the breakdown below for details.

Example 1:

Shipping a 24 lb kettlebell? You’ll pay the standard pick fee plus a $4.00 surcharge for the extra weight.

Example 2:

  • Shipping a single 8 oz bottle of lotion? Just the standard pick fee applies.
  • Shipping a master case of 48 bottles (24 lbs total)? You’ll pay the standard pick fee plus a $4.00 surcharge for the heavier weight.

Selling internationally

Deliverzen makes it easy to sell and ship your products internationally, helping you grow your brand worldwide. Here are a few key things to keep in mind when shipping internationally:

1. Shipping costs

International shipping costs can vary significantly, so it’s important to charge your customers the correct amount. This ensures you don’t end up paying more for shipping than you’re charging.

2. Dimensional weight

Most international carriers use the dimensional weight to calculate shipping costs. Here’s how it works:

  • Multiply the width, height, and length of your product.
  • Divide the result by the carrier’s dimensional weight factor.
The carrier will charge you based on the higher of the two—either the actual weight or the dimensional weight.

3. Delivery times

International shipping can take longer than domestic shipping, especially with economy carriers. Be sure to set clear expectations with your customers about delivery times. You can also offer expedited shipping options for customers who need their products faster.

What is DDP?

Deliverzen uses DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), which means all duties, taxes, and shipping costs are included in the price your customers pay. This ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience for your customers, as they won’t face any unexpected fees when their order arrives.

With Deliverzen, you can focus on growing your business while we handle the complexities of international shipping.
